As you may have seen in my previous post last week I went on an incense blending day school (and a great time I had!). However, it did bring to mind one of the many “I really should do something about that” things that I haven’t done anything about.
Meditation; it is really good for you, I know lots of people who have or do meditate and they all recommend it. My problem is all a matter of comfort. If I am too comfortable I either nod off or end up having a nice Arthur Rackham-esque daydream, not comfortable enough and I end up aggravating my dodgy back. I started to do something about this a while ago and made myself a meditation stool which is supposed to help you sit comfortably while retaining good posture etc. Unfortunately the stool turned out a bit too low and didn’t quite work and hasn’t seen the light of day since. Well, to badly misquote from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang “from the ashes of disaster grow the roses of success”; I am going to revisit the stool design and will, by the evening of the 18th August, have a stool upon which I can safely perch. Watch this space for further ashes or, more optimistically, a new rose!
